have been dealing with dog breeding since 1984, with Welsh Terriers and Wire Haired Hungarian Vizslas. Me and my dogs are active hunters, with the terriers for foxes, wild- boar, with the Vizslas for winged games. I demonstrate all of my dogs on shows. And they have to pass the obligatory working exams, too. I try not to follow any kind of trends in breeding, I stand upon my own purposes, and follow my own direction. I can say, that I sell 99% of puppies to hunters, so the main function of the dogs - hunting and work- is ensured. Unfortunately sometimes it befalls, that very good looking dogs, which are also working perfectly never will come back to breeding. The cause is that most of the hunters think that the exterior values are not so important, only the usefullness and the good work. But this two things do not exclude each other! The problem, that the good looking and working bloodlines are out from the breeding is more importantin the case of wire haired Vizslas, because its population is quite few (maybe it is rising up a little bit), and the attributions -outlooking, colour, quality and length of hair, capability of work- of the showed dogs differs very much from each other, and from the standards, too. Therefore every breeder, referee, hunter, dog owner should try for breeding only those specimens from this excellent, good hunting, easy to handle and teach, unfortunately non speaking breed, which are worth for it, because of their greatness of outlooking, having a good nervous system, and suitability of hunting -together. My other favourite breed, the Welsh Terrier is in a completly different state, because of there are no matters in quality and in population. I only try after the succesful selection from these litters, and I refresh my breed population with puppies from foreign, acknowledged kennels in every fifth or sixth year. The most important point of view in breeding terriers for me is the usefulness in work, but not neglecting the good look. The main aim of my work is to breed the best working and looking specimens from both breed, and popularize this two variety among hunters and non hunters. I do hope, that this short introducing has risen Your enquiry. If You need any kind of informations about the two breed, or You would like to have a puppy , please do not hesitate to contact me. |
